A small teaching moment

Make the thinking visible.

Show students how an idea can grow. Model the change, talk about its purpose, then build another example together.

Start with a simple sentence

The dog waited.

Add detail: where? How?

Beside the garden gate, the dog waited patiently.

The teacher behind the resources

Hi, I’m Kara.

I’m a primary teacher and the creator of Impactful Instruction. My experience includes a classroom teacher teaching students across Years K-6, as well as literacy and numeracy intervention. I also hold a Graduate Certificate in Education specialising in learning difficulties.

I create resources that break learning into clear, manageable steps with explicit modelling, supported practice and scaffolds that help students move towards independence.
